When the soul meets the serenity of nature, that’s when the captivated aspiration of life ignites like a sun shining high. And that’s what we as travellers call in unison as the beauty of travelling. So, let’s fall in the lap of nature with Devadars Brahmtal trek. Brahmatal trek ranks as one of the most visited treks of India & is quite famous because of snow-covered alleys. For an enthusiastic trekker, nothing can serve better than Brahmtal trek this winter. Amidst the snow, high altitude alpine lake is tucked in the Garhwal region of the Himalayas. But despite this scenic landscape this trek is comparatively moderate & an easy go.
What makes Brahmatal different from other treks is that on this trek, a traveller has high chances of seeing huge peaks from extremely close quarters. The best thing about this trek is you get the chance to camp by the side of two distinct lakes-Bekal Tal and Brahmatal
This is just the beginning, more is about to come. Discover the joy of life with Devadars Brahmtal trek. .
DAY 1- Kathgodam to Wan (drive 245 km)
On the very first day, Devadars voyagers will board on vehicles for the long uphill drive from Kathgodam to Wan, which will cover approximately 245 km, thus, in turn, land us at our kickstarting location, from where actual trekking will start. This drive for some might feel the longest, but it’s worth!
Picturesque mountain view, Garhwal mountains and the chanting rivers accompany us all the way up to the mountain, and it’s rewarding enough, ain’t it?
In the time between, there is little escape where you can spend some time in the small flea markets and local spots of the area or just maybe just enjoy the beautiful sunset view.
Expected drive time: 11-12 hours Estimate Altitude: 7,662 ft Water sources: Carry at least 2 litre water bottle. Refill service is available at the starting point/in-between stops.
DAY 2- Wan to Lohajung (15km drive): Lohajung to Bekaltal (8km trek)
Upon reaching Wan, Devadars Voyagers will travel further to Lohajung for approx 15km more. And once our troop is at Lohajung we will kick start our trek from Lohajung to Bekaltal (approx. 8 Km) Lohajung is considered to be as the base camp for our Brahmtal trek. Trekking route is gradually ascending through forests on very well defined trails.
Coming to our second-day destination Bekaltal. Bekaltal is a very popular and beautiful lake in the Garhwal region but is usually frozen in the months of January & February. This lake is fully surrounded by green & dark oak tree forests and is an ultimate camping spot. Overnight stay for the second day is maintained in tents by Devadars.
Expected Trek time: 4-5 hours Estimate Altitude: 9,690 ft Water sources: No water points, Make sure you carry 2 litres of water from the camp before hitting off
Day 3- Bekaltal to Brahmtal ( 6km trek)
On the third day of our trek, here hold your breath, to encounter the most scenic day from the entire trek. The main spotlight of the Brahmtal trek is the high altitude ranges and entirely frozen Brahmtal lake. One of the major astonishing factor associated with this place is that this is believed to be the meditation point of Lord Brahma (a Hindu deity).
Heads Up: Brahmatal lake is situated at an altitude of 3,400 m. The trek is fairly easy with a gradual descent.
Camps for an overnight stay will be set up by Devadards Voyagers. Now is the time to intake all that you have seen the entire day in your body, mind & soul, to rest a bit, to sit by the side of Brahmtal lake a bit, to rest and relax your muscle for the upcoming day.
Expected Trek time: 6-7 hours Estimate Altitude: 10,450 ft Water sources: No water points, Make sure you carry 2 litres of water from the camp before hitting off
Day 4-Brahmatal to Tilbudi (6km trek)
The fourth day of Brahmtal trek is comparatively easier companied by the breathtaking view. On this day Devadars voyagers will march towards Tilbudi from Brahmtal. The entire route of the fourth day as mentioned above has moderate ascent to the ridge followed by a flat walk and then a steep descent passing by the Rhododendron and oak forest.
On this day of trekking, 4 to 6 hours is occupied in trekking solely to cover the 6km route. Once we attain the top-notch height of this day, nature is readily looking at us with open arms. From this point, we can capture the entire Himalayan range and keep it in a nutshell of our brain like a photographic memory imprinted forever. Peaks of a single spot like Haukhambha, Mandi, Mana, Nilgiri, Neelkanth, Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, Maitoli can be adored from this point. From here onwards, you can have your own time and capture the moments and keep’em alive in your photographic slate.

The downside trek is going to be gradual and steep with mixed descent trails. From this point of downside arrow, you can easily catch amazing views of Himalayan range on your right. Later on the same trail, the compact rural household will steal the glare, making it a moment of lifetime joy.
This will be the perfect day for loose walks or photography fellas!
